25 Romantic Recipes to Pamper Your Valentine

Valentine’s Day is just over a week away — a holiday people either adore or avoid. For me, any reason to make something special for my partner is a good reason. I’m not one for dressing up and fighting crowds at an overpriced restaurant. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I’ve seen menus marked up and hurried service that diminishes the experience. Instead, we prefer to stay home.

Here in Malaysia few restaurants offer a dedicated Valentine’s menu, which suits us fine. I usually prepare a small gift for Alex and cook an extra-fancy four-course meal. I set the balcony table with a cloth and candles; his flowers and balloons add a festive touch. Those quiet, home-cooked evenings are some of our favorite times together.

I was thrilled to join a Valentine’s Day roundup focused on healthy and romantic recipes for the whole day. It’s a lovely idea — why not make the whole day special, or sprinkle a few of these dishes throughout the week? With a wide range of options, there’s something here for every palate and occasion.
