Black Olive and Artichoke Dip for Game Day Pizza Night

The big game is coming, and I’ve been testing simple, crowd-pleasing recipes for my party. This Black Olive Artichoke Dip is my favorite new pizza dip — think of it as salsa for pizza. It adds bright, savory flavor to each slice, and paired with a warm pie it turns every bite into crust perfection.

I like my Big Game parties to be relaxed and a little more fun than a typical gathering. I keep a variety of pizza options, plenty of desserts like a chocolate cream pie, and lots of snacks. The goal is great flavor with minimal effort and no long waits.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups black olives

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  1. If you prefer a smooth dip, pulse ingredients in a blender. For a chunkier texture, chop by hand or use a food processor.
  2. Chop the olives and place them in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Chop the artichoke hearts and add them to the olives.
  4. Minced the garlic and add it to the bowl.
  5. Pour in the olive oil and red wine vinegar, then season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight to let the flavors meld — it improves with time.
  8. Serve chilled alongside pizza, breadsticks, or crackers and enjoy.
