If you don’t already know, I’m all about a good thrift score. I spend most weekends hunting through thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales. When Trisha from Black and White Obsessions and Brynne from The Gathered Home invited me to guest host #ThriftScoreThursday, I couldn’t say no. I met these two at the Haven Conference in Atlanta, and Trisha and I also connected as fellow Silhouette Challengers.
Thrift Score Thursday is an Instagram challenge that invites thrifters to share their best secondhand finds. Tag your photos with #thriftscorethursday so we can all admire your great finds each week.
Stephanie from Sand Paper and Glue
My first featured find comes from Stephanie at Sand Paper and Glue. She transformed a bulky 1980s end table into a modern, useful piece. This kind of dated wood-and-brass furniture is easy to find at thrift stores or stored in basements, but with a little vision it can have a beautiful second life.

Tanya from Dans le Lakehouse
If you’re new here: I love teal. I joke about painting everything teal because it looks great on so many pieces. I discovered Dans le Lakehouse when Tanya guest hosted Thrift Score Thursday and immediately fell in love with her feed. Her finds range from vintage rugs to kitchenware and cutlery, and her aesthetic is right up my alley.
Since I started thrifting I’ve developed a soft spot for Pyrex, especially teal pieces. Tanya’s collection and styling are inspiring — someday I hope to curate a wall as beautiful as hers. Follow her on Instagram and read more on her blog.
Weekend Craft’s Finds
A few weeks ago at Brimfield, the large outdoor antique market, I found a bar cart that caught my eye. I had just signed a lease and was about to move into a new house, picturing it on my back deck holding plants. The vendor price was $40, but after some haggling I walked away with it for $25. I thought I might spray it teal, but on move-in day I decided to use it as a bar cart — no paint needed, at least for now. I’m now on the lookout for a vintage decanter and shaker set to complete the look.
